Not Your Average Sunday
On a regular Sunday morning you might see some vehicles in the parking lot of the church as you are passing by. The outside markings that a church service is about to begin. On September 19th, you saw something very different going on outside Community of Nations Church. Instead of an undisturbed front lawn, you saw tables being set up and a flag banner waving between two oak trees overhead. These sights were the beginnings of a day to remember.
Community of Nations Festival : 16 Nations Represented!
The Community of Nations Festival was a day of coming together. People from church congregations and organizations within the community created an experience unique to the diversity that exists within them. A total of 16 nations were represented at the festival! These came to life in the form of nation booths that lined the lawn of the church. The nation booths were shared by those who have come from, have heritage from, or have lived in these nations. There was much richness to explore when visiting each nation booth. Festival goers were able to experience sights, smells, tastes, and sounds of many nations as they strolled along the line of booths. What made these experiences truly special was the richness of community shared in learning, laughter, and everything in between.
People of Nations, Churches, and Organizations Came Together
Not only were many nations represented at the Community of Nations Festival, but many churches/organizations as well. Inside the church foyer were several booths dedicated to these organizations that partnered together to make the festival possible. All the organizations that were represented at the festival are dedicated to supporting the multi-cultural community. It was a joy to see people engaging in different activities led by these organizations: Do Good Roseville, The Hospitality Center, New City of Nations Church, Meal Teams of Ramsey County, and Community of Nations Church.
Music Shared in Diversity of Sounds
The Community of Nations Festival brought the community together to share with one another out of the uniqueness that each person contains. This was heard as people gathered to enjoy the music shared by 5 different musical groups. Those listening heard the diversity of sounds of both instruments and musical styles. Anyone who heard the music throughout the day could consider it together as one melody that sang the theme of the day, “A community of many nations coming together is a beautiful thing.”
Community of Nations Festival 2021
A day to remember it was. Going forward there is a continued opportunity to connect with one another and share together in the richness of the multi-cultural community that was seen at the Community of Nations Festival 2021.
we pray to God for more Grace upon those who are working to see the good in the community
